Prescribing Naturopathic Doctor — Remote Asynchronous NHP Formula Review (Ontario + Multi-Province)

About NutriLab
NutriLab is a Toronto-based direct-to-consumer health company building Canada's first truly personalized compounded supplement subscription. We are not a supplement brand that sells pre-formulated products — we compound each customer's formula from scratch, based on their unique health profile, symptom scores, and declared medications.
Founded by a pharmacologist, NutriLab combines pharmacologist-designed clinical algorithms with licensed naturopathic oversight and GMP-compliant compounding to deliver a 30-day personalized sachet roll — one daily dose, everything inside — to each customer's door.
Every formula consists exclusively of Schedule 1 Natural Health Product ingredients under Health Canada's Natural Health Products Regulations. Every compounding order is issued by a licensed naturopathic doctor and prepared by a licensed Ontario compounding pharmacy. This is not a supplement company with a wellness angle — it is a clinical model with a consumer interface.
Mission and Values
The supplement industry is full of products — but almost none of them were designed for the specific person taking them, at the specific doses the evidence supports, for the specific health concerns they actually have. NutriLab exists to change that. Our mission is to make genuinely personalized, clinically grounded natural health support accessible to every Canadian.
  • Every ingredient we include has peer-reviewed clinical evidence behind it. We do not follow wellness trends — we follow the literature.
  • The ND's clinical judgment is never subordinate to commercial convenience.
  • Every ingredient is named, every dose is disclosed, every clinical decision is documented. No proprietary blends. No vague claims. No shortcuts.
  • We are building NutriLab with clinical professionals. The ND's role is genuine and substantive — not a regulatory formality.
  • Drug-nutrient interaction screening is built into every step of our model. We would rather delay an order than send a formula that concerns the prescribing ND.
  • We are at the beginning. The ND who joins us now will shape the clinical model, not just execute it — and grow with the business as it scales.
What you will do
This is a fully remote, asynchronous consulting role. There are no clinic hours, no scheduled patient appointments, and no live calls required. You review patient intakes on your own schedule — from wherever you are — and issue NHP compounding orders for the formulas you approve.
01 Review patient health intakes
Each patient submits a detailed health assessment covering their health goals, symptom scores across 11 categories, all declared medications, and relevant health conditions. You review a structured summary of this intake through a shared clinical dashboard — designed to surface clinically relevant information immediately, without reading through raw questionnaire data.
02 Assess formula appropriateness per patient
Our pharmacologist-designed algorithm generates an NHP formula recommendation for each patient — specific ingredients, doses, and timing. You apply your independent clinical judgment to determine whether that formula is appropriate for that specific individual. Your assessment overrides the algorithm in every case.
03 Confirm or modify the formula
For the majority of straightforward cases, you mark the formula confirmed. Where modification is warranted — for example, removing an ingredient due to a medication interaction, adjusting a dose, or flagging a complex case — you note the change clearly. NutriLab's customer service team handles all patient communication arising from modifications. You do not contact patients directly.
04 Issue patient-specific NHP compounding orders
For each approved formula, you issue a patient-specific compounding order that is transmitted to our licensed Ontario compounding pharmacy. This order is the clinical and regulatory foundation of each preparation. The pharmacy does not compound without your order.
05 Flag complex cases for additional review
Cases involving multiple medications, unusual health histories, or combinations that raise clinical concern are flagged in the dashboard. You place these on hold and note the reason. NutriLab will coordinate accordingly. Your clinical judgment on complexity thresholds is respected without question.
On time commitment: A straightforward patient intake review takes approximately 5–8 minutes once you are familiar with the system and formula categories. We anticipate 200–300 orders per month at launch — approximately 20 hours of total review time per month, distributed across your schedule with no fixed hours or deadlines.
