Editor in Chief - CAND Journal

The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) provides visionary leadership for the CAND Journal (CANDJ), guiding the journal in publishing high-quality, evidence-informed naturopathic research that meets the highest standards of scientific and ethical rigour. The EIC sets the editorial strategy, leads and mentors the Editorial Board, champions innovative research, and shapes the journal’s long-term direction, ensuring its relevance, credibility, and impact within the field.
Operationally, the EIC is supported by the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors’ (CAND) Chief Executive Officer and staff, as well as dedicated editorial staff through a contracted publishing services provider, who handle administrative and production tasks such as manuscript management, workflow coordination, and publication processes.
Until a formal Journal Advisory Committee (JAC) is established, the EIC reports directly to the CAND Board of Directors, providing regular updates on journal performance, strategic initiatives, and operational priorities. While reporting to the Board of Directors, the EIC retains full editorial independence, with all decisions about content, peer review, and manuscript acceptance made solely on scholarly merit and alignment with the journal’s mission.
