Naturopathic Physician Responsibilities

1. Meet with patients to assess their overall health, medical history, lifestyle, and current symptoms. This will involve conducting physical examinations, reviewing lab results, and listening to the patient's concerns.
2. Develop individualized treatment plans that includes natural remedies, nutritional counselling, herbal medicine, homoeopathy, physical therapies, and lifestyle modifications.
3. Administer natural treatments to patients, such as acupuncture, hydrotherapy, nutritional supplementation, and botanical medicine. You will educate patients on self-care techniques and guide them through the process of integrating natural therapies into their daily lives.
4. Monitor their patient's progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly. This may involve reviewing lab results, conducting follow-up appointments, and providing ongoing support and guidance.
5. Work alongside other practitioners within our clinic and conventional medical doctors or specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care. This may involve sharing information, discussing treatment options, and coordinating care.
6. Educating patients about natural health principles, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications. You will guide nutrition, exercise, stress management, and other factors that contribute to overall well-being.
7. Keep detailed and accurate records of patient consultations, assessments, treatments, and progress to ensure continuity of care.

Naturopathic Physician Required Skills

1. In-depth knowledge of naturopathic medicine principles, modalities, and therapies.
2. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
4. Empathy and compassion to provide personalized and patient-centered care.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex medical conditions and develop effective treatment plans.
6. Organizational skills to manage patient caseload, maintain records, and schedule appointments.
7. Ability to stay updated on the latest research and developments in naturopathic medicine.

Required Qualifications

1. Graduation from an accredited naturopathic medical program.
2. Successful completion of national board examinations and a valid license to practice as a naturopathic physician in Alberta.
3. Continuing education to maintain licensure and stay updated on advancements in the field.
4. Experience in clinical practice, preferably under the supervision of an experienced naturopathic physician.
5. A strong commitment to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care.
6. Compassionate and committed to providing superior care for patients.
7. IV therapy certification.
