Course description
Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) has become an increasingly popular focus of research studies, medical conferences and clinical discussion. As such, patients are beginning to ask about SIBO as a cause of their health concerns, in a similar way as they have historically asked about other types of dysbiosis. This course is designed to help naturopathic doctors and students to become familiar with this condition in order to provide up to date knowledge and optimal care for their patients.

Dr. Bryan J. Rade, ND
Dr. Rade is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and is the current president of the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors. His practice primarily focuses on cases of complex chronic illness including persistent borreliosis and coinfections, mold illness, autism spectrum disorder, PANDAS/PANS, integrative oncology, chronic pain and neurological disorders. He also focuses on challenging cases that do not respond to the majority of treatments. Dr. Rade has treated 1200 cases of confirmed SIBO in his practice and has consulted on many others. He has addressed cases ranging from simple to complex, in patients who tolerate treatment very well to those who are extremely sensitive. In his experience, SIBO can play a primary or secondary role in a wide range of illnesses, especially those of a complex nature. He believes that proficiency in its diagnosis and treatment can greatly help expand the versatility and efficacy of naturopathic care.
