Teaching Assistant, Traditional Chinese Medicine - IMG Cohort (TCM304) (CCNM - Toronto Campus)

We are currently looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant. While specific duties for the position of Teaching Assistant may vary with each course, typically they may include advance preparation, leading weekly small-group practical sessions, demonstrating relevant techniques and methods to student groups, evaluating student performance of relevant techniques and methods, ensuring safe handling of needles and scalpels by students, and offering guidance and mentoring to students. The incumbent must be in attendance for both classes and be present for training prior to the start date.
This course starts in the Fall 2021 term and runs on Fridays from 12 - 4 p.m. Available: November 5, 2021.
Please note: Candidates may be asked to perform basic acupuncture techniques as part of the interview and selection process.
This position requires being on-site at CCNM.

Qualifications
Experience:
  • At a minimum, candidates must have experience in all areas of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) especially: cupping, moxabustion, non-tube needle insertion
  • Past teaching experience and clinical experience would be an asset
Education:
  • Board licensed ND or MD and or/possess a related graduate degree or diploma from an accredited health care program
  • At a minimum, candidates must have attained a diploma in acupuncture from a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution, or be a licensed, practicing Naturopathic Doctor
  • Training in teaching methodology, measurement and evaluation at a post-secondary level is desirable
Skills:
  • Excellent written, oral and facilitation/communication skills
  • Established research publication record is desirable
  • Positive demonstrated commitment to student success
