Lab Technician (Boucher Campus)

We are currently looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Lab Technician to join our CCNM - Boucher Teaching Clinic on a full-time basis. In this role you will have an opportunity to superviseand provide instruction to naturopathic students on their path to becoming naturopathic doctors in all areas of laboratory testing including.
In this challenging position, you will report to the Boucher Clinic Manager and be responsible for:
  • Student Intern instruction & evaluation including supervising and instructing students in venipuncture and phlebotomy and other inhouse laboratory testing
  • Sample collection and processing external sourced lab testing, lab test processing, shipping and result acquisition; SIBO kit testing, processing, shipping and coordinating for results and invoicing;
  • On-site resource for lab techniques & procedures: Implements, disseminates and enforces policies, procedures and protocols to ensure the safe, consistent operation of the BNMC in-house medical laboratory
  • Continuous maintenance of laboratory facilities following policies, procedures and protocols to ensure the safe, consistent operation of the CCNM Boucher in-house medical laboratory

Qualifications
  • Degree/diploma/certification as a Laboratory Technician or technologist from a recognized program in Medical Laboratory Science
  • Current registration with the Canadian College of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS)
  • Current certification in First Aid and WHMIS
  • Minimum of 2 years post certification experience in phlebotomy, specimen preparation & processing
  • Experience in organizing and managing lab inventory
  • Exemplary customer service skills to deal with a wide variety of internal and external clients
