Naturopathic physician in beautiful Bellingham

Our 5-star rated, fast-paced, integrative health clinic is looking to add another licensed naturopathic physician to our collaborative primary care team. This position is fully supported with eHR, reception staff, a CNA/MA team, a third-party insurance billing team, and an on-site supplement dispensary. Our clinic takes insurance, including Medicaid, and we also have an amazing chiropractor on board!
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Meeting with patients to assess their overall health, medical history, lifestyle, and current symptoms. This will involve conducting physical examinations, ordering and reviewing lab results, and listening to the patient's concerns.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans that may include natural remedies, pharmaceutical medicine, botanical medicine, nutritional counseling, herbal medicine, HRT, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans accordingly. This may involve reviewing lab results, conducting follow-up appointments, and providing ongoing support and guidance.
  • Referring to and collaborating with conventional medical doctors or specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care. This may involve sharing information, discussing treatment options, referring to specialists, and coordinating care.
  • Educating patients about natural health principles, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications. You will guide nutrition, exercise, stress management, and other factors that contribute to overall well-being.
  • Keeping detailed and accurate records of patient consultations, assessments, treatments, and progress to ensure continuity of care.
  • Prescribing, dispensing and administering natural medicines to patients, such as dietary supplements, vitamins, amino acids, and herbs.
  • Prescribing pharmaceutical medications, adjusting dosage, and testing safety and efficacy.
  • Organizing and updating patient files depending on their conditions, treatment plans, and progress.
  • Ordering diagnostic imaging procedures for patients who require it, such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and mammograms.
  • Ordering diagnostic and routine blood work.
Job Requirements include:
  • Active Washington State naturopathic physician license.
  • Must be willing to be contracted with and accept insurance.
  • Respect and collaborate with staff in a team environment
  • In-depth knowledge of naturopathic medicine principles, modalities, and therapies.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate with other health-care professionals.
  • Empathy and compassion to provide personalized and patient-centered care.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex medical conditions and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Organizational skills to manage patient caseload, maintain records, and schedule appointments.
  • Ability to stay updated on the latest research and developments in naturopathic medicine.
  • Basic marketing to boost client base and serve more members of our community (attending networking events, blogging, etc.) This can look different for each provider and we’re happy to discuss it further in an interview!
